An exciting new role has become available in our Central Transmission team for a Delivery Manager
- Planning & Training with broad experience in people management. Reporting to the Operations Manager - Transmission Stations, you’ll be responsible to provide oversight and leadership to manage work programs and plan network outages on Transpower’s electricity network for the purpose of maintenance and project activities in the Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions. You will also:
- Develop and deliver innovative training initiatives to prepare learners for the industry.
- Accelerate competency and trades-based learning and support the learning and development framework for all Transmission staff.
- Maintain and communicate accurate 4-monthly work schedules, while developing 2-year work schedules
- Work with Transpower and your team to optimise and publish an annual outage plan as part of a 2-year work schedule.
- Assist in the development of annual budget forecasts and achieve KPI targets.
- Develop and drive improvements in quality, productivity, and safety performance along with strong compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.
- Build and maintain effective internal and external relationships with sub-contractors, suppliers, our customers, management, operations and project managers, trainers, and field staff.

**About you**
To be successful in this role, you’ll be an experienced leader and mentor, with strong business acumen and training methodologies. You will have sound organisational and financial management skills to prepare budget reports and work plans. Ideally, you’ll have proven industry knowledge on Transmission, and minimum 5 years’ experience effectively delivering training plan schedules. You will also have:
- Demonstrated good judgment and sound decision making under pressure.
- Be a strategic, critical thinker.
- Excellent communication skills and strong collaborative skills.
- Proven ability to develop and manage relationships.
- Ability to motivate and influence key stakeholders.
- Tenacity to take problems through to successful outcomes despite potential barriers.
- Strong computer skills, know your way around systems and spreadsheets.
- Knowledge and diploma level Electrical Engineering and/or Business Management will be desirable.
- Current involvement in the infrastructure, utility or electrical transmission business is highly advantageous.
