Northpower is an electricity and fibre network provider for Whangarei and Kaipara, with more than 60,000 connected customers. We also provide contracting services to our partners - other network owners and operators across the North Island.

We have over 1,300 staff working together across 13 locations to keep the power on and the lights going for our customers.

Our vibrant Hamilton team is looking for an experienced Transmission Line Mechanic to join them and work on the construction and maintenance of electrical lines to customer and Network requirements.**The role**
As a Transmission Line Mechanic you will be reporting to your Supervisor. Your safety and that of others around you is your number one priority. This role will see you playing a key part in the construction and maintenance of transmission lines to customer requirements. You’ll also assist with work plans and ensure that relevant field paperwork is completed as necessary. You'll also:

- Install and replace electricity network pole / tower structures and overhead conductors
- Project work involving tower building, conductor transfer, stringing, helicopter work etc.

**Who we’re looking for**
You’ll be working on a variety of exciting projects and may have to do some occasional weekend work. To be successful in this role, it is essential to have the following:
- NZ EWRB Practicing licence - Preferred but we can support you with this.
- At least two years’ solid experience under your belt
- A valid Class 2 driver’s licence, Class 4 licence (preferable not essential)
- A great work attitude and willingness to be part of a diverse team along with a strong focus to health & safety
- Ability to communicate and work under minimum supervision
