**Te whiwhinga mahi - The Opportunity**

KiwiRail has an opportunity for a Field Asset Engineer to join our team in Hamilton. You will be responsible for asset management of track and structure assets in the field.

Within your role you will look to:

- Create work-bank plans to support the delivery of KPIs in Asset Management and Business Plans
- Creation of the maintenance and renewals service requests and work orders and ensuring correct priorities are assigned for these
- Deliver the inspection work-bank
- Provide expert technical advice to achieve best practice and adherence to code requirements
- Interface with third parties including customers and contractors
- Carry out engineering inspections and provide technical advice to the area production teams

Other duties are carrying out engineering inspections and site audits to ensure the asset condition meets code requirements and the Maximo system contains correct, complete, and up-to-date information.

This position will give you a great platform to demonstrate your strong problem-solving ability, whilst maintaining a strong commitment to driving activity towards achieving performance to plan and productivity targets with your other skills such as:

- A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, preference will be given to those who have geotechnical experience.
- Demonstrable experience working in the Rail Industry, Infrastructure or Service Organisation - job planning, estimating and project management including cost control and managing job timelines
- Experience with asset management systems is a pre-requisite, along with knowledge of best practice asset management principles
- You will also possess excellent communication skills and be computer literate - knowledge of Maximo is a definite advantage
