This is an opportunity to help shape the future of digital health in New Zealand.
The Principal Advisor - Self Service Channels is a role that will bring together our strategy for consumer digital health interfaces, including personal health records, public information, and digital access to public health services.
The Principal Advisor will have a lead role in a team building and improving digital health services for the population of New Zealand. They will work with leadership across Te Whatu Ora and the sector to understand and realise opportunities. Your recommendations will inform development of national solutions used by the majority of the population.
On a day-to-day basis you will be preparing strategic advice, driving delivery, helping to build a high-performing team, and building strategic partnerships.

From user-friendly digital self-service options to seamless integration and automation, we're here to make life easier for the workforce, health consumers and whānau.
We take pride in managing, delivering, and providing unwavering support for all our national external services. From Te Whatu Ora to Te Aka Whai Ora and Manatū Hauora, we've got our fingers on the pulse of it all.
Design and Channels are responsible for the design and delivery of our consumer facing digital products used by a wide range of consumers and whānau across Aotearoa. We aspire to create products that are accessible to the broadest consumer audience and that our services are consistent across the channels we provide to support equitable access.
The Self-Service Channels team builds high-profile digital health services for all New Zealanders, from websites with general health information, to helping people access their own health information, to supporting digital components of public health services.

You will be informed about best practice and strategies across New Zealand and overseas in the health, government, and digital technology sectors. You will keep learning and share your understanding.
You will be curious, collaborative, and thorough. You will be an exceptional and flexible communicator; you will be writing advice for executive leadership and ministers as well as guiding designers and developers in delivery teams.
**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- A strong understanding of the machinery of Government and planning and performance functions.
- Critical thinking and sound judgement, in particular the ability to research and analyse relevant information, develop options, and think strategically.
- Ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively at all levels across a large multi-disciplinary organisation.
- A relevant tertiary qualification.
- Experience in the health sector is desirable.
