Our Sector Digital Channels team plays a pivotal role as a catalyst for change in our nationally enabled services. Our mission is to create digital solutions that are both cost-effective and sustainable, revolutionizing accessibility through user-friendly digital self-service options and assisted channels. Through automation and seamless integration, we aim to ease the burden on our workforce.

Our team proudly takes the lead in managing, delivering, and offering unwavering support for all our national external services. These services, curated by Data and Digital, are tailored for entities beyond Te Whatu Ora, Te Aka Whai Ora, and Manatū Hauora. Additionally, our team champions the development and oversight of APIs that foster interconnectedness across the various systems and services employed by external parties, such as the National Immunisation Register and Health Practitioner Index.

**Mōu | About you**

As our Principal Advisor Ways of Working, you will play a crucial role in our Ways of Working team, ensuring our Directorate functions smoothly and efficiently. You will provide valuable advice, support, and thought leadership, fostering continuous improvement while building strong relationships among teams. At the heart of your role, you will guide our people to form and sustain high-performance teams and deliver exceptional work.

Your role involves mentoring, coaching, and guiding our teams to structure themselves effectively. The Principal Advisor also supports the Team Leader Ways of Working & Change in key program development, offering top-notch advice to our leaders and mentoring colleagues across the Directorate as needed.

Your focus will be on creating a culture of adaptability within the Directorate, ensuring high performance and offering guidance on various aspects including effective working methods, adaptability support, assurance, process improvement, risk and financial management, and alignment with our Data and Digital strategy and industry standards.

**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- A relevant tertiary qualification.
- Ability to use advanced Excel and other reporting suites to produce numerical and written reports in a clear and concise manner.
- Demonstrated ability to construct effective business plans and financial forecasts, develop performance and programme and project benefit and measures, analyse performance data and facilitate performance improvement initiatives at an organisational level.
- A strong understanding of the machinery of Government, and planning and performance functions.
- Excellent Interpersonal skills with the ability to foster strong stakeholder relationships.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to tailor complex messages to a range of audiences.
- Critical thinking and sound judgement, in particular the ability to research and analyse relevant information, develop options, and think strategically.
- Business nouse and risk management, knowing what is important to key stakeholders.
- Ability to work within ambiguity and help shape the direction of the role in a fast-changing environment.
- Analytical and enquiring mindset, with a willingness to ask probing questions to understand the underlying information.
- Solutions focused with a natural problem-solving outlook.
- Ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively at all levels across a large multi-disciplinary organisation.
- A demonstrated commitment to the provision of quality services and delivery of results.
- Previous experience in the healthcare sector is desirable.
