The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.

You will be working within the newly established Intelligence Directorate. The Intelligence Directorate are regionally networked and collaborative across Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora. We utilise data to produce intelligence that supports decision making.

We are excited to have a position available in our Intelligence Directorate as a **Senior** **Analyst **in the Improvement & Performance Team. The Improvement & Performance team aims to:

- Strategically enable and enhance the quality and efficiency of intelligence processes and products
- Provide meaningful performance frameworks and associated products to measure public health outcomes
- Work with key stakeholders to ensure our approaches and outputs honor Te Tiriti o Waitangi and reflect the voices and stories of communities

This permanent, full-time role will see you provide strong technical or professional expertise, including data analysis activities and interpretation, writing and communication skills in relevant areas. In the role you will also undertake peer review of documents, programmes, and material prepared by colleagues to ensure quality, validity, accuracy and consistency.

**Mōu | About you**

**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- Relevant post graduate tertiary qualification (Masters level or PhD) or 3-5 years of comparable work experience
- A background in public health, psychology, statistics, or similar is desirable
- A background in data management, data analytics or similar is expected
- Experience in data storytelling and measurement frameworks is desirable
- Advanced experience in using a variety of relevant data tooling & languages such as SQL, R or Python, DBT, Alation, and PowerBI etc with a deep expertise in one analysis tool
- Well-developed technical writing, oral and presentation skills to communicate clearly and concisely in a range of formats, to suit a range of audiences (technical and non-technical).
- Knowledge of agile methodologies is desirable
- Current knowledge in relevant emergent technologies, and of trends in industry thinking
- Experience in working within Product Development frameworks and/or Cross functional teams
