Due to an internal promotion, we now have an opportunity to join our Westpac Whanau as a Senior Finance System Analyst within our Finance team.

Mō te tūranga | About the Role

Reporting to the Finance Systems Lead, the Senior Finance System Analyst will support the NZ Finance Systems team, in maintaining and providing solutions for the General Ledger, implementing continuous improvement practices, automating and re-engineering processes. You will establish close working relationships with the wider Finance team as a key driver of driving process improvement and automation throughout Finance utilising a broad set of available tools, data assets and systems.

Role Deliverables will include but not limited to:
- Oversee Finance Systems and processes in collaboration with other members of the NZ Finance Systems team and WBC Group to maintain.- Project Delivery:
- Ad-hoc project work as directed by the Finance Systems Lead- Work with internal customers and business analysts on requirements- Continuous Improvement & Automation:
- Identify and implement continuous improvement, automation, and process re-engineering opportunities within Finance.- Proactively support the sharing of tools, technical knowledge, and expertise to empower key Stakeholders.- Support key Stakeholders including the wider Finance team with the building of performance reports and the extraction of data.- Support reconciliation and control processes as required, including internal and external audit requirements.

Stakeholder Engagement:
- Key contributor to the Finance Systems team and promoter of continuous improvement, automation, and process re-engineering across WNZL and the wider WBC Group.- Pro-actively support and work with the Finance process owners to ensure appropriate, effective, and efficient solutions are in place resulting in the best outcomes for WNZL Finance.- Pro-actively support and work with the wider Finance team to ensure Finance tools are used to their full extent, including providing appropriate training.

Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Information Systems or Accounting- A minimum of 5+ years of SQL experience- Financial systems experience- Strong business engagement and facilitation skills- Microsoft tools- Strong written and communication skills- Relationships & networking skills- Power BI developer experience- Understanding of financial services, in particular banking products and accounting policy- CA, CPA or CFA qualified, or on a development path to qualification- Understanding of NZ International Financial Reporting Standards (NZ IFRS)- Oracle General Ledger system, Hyperion/Cognos TM1 querying tools
