**About the opportunity | Te whai waahi**
As the Head of Internal Communications your primary focus is to lead the creation and implementation of the internal comms strategy across our Operations business unit (COO - Chief Operating Officer), ensuring it is aligned to the COO Lead Team’s and wider Co-op’s strategy. This is a large scope of work approximately 9,000 people across our manufacturing, SC, Technical, engineering, Food safety and Health and Safety functions.
Key responsibilities:

- Strategically think about the evolution and embedding of channels and key messages to align the COO team to what matters most.
- Develop and implement COO’s internal comms strategy, across a multi-channel landscape, ensuring maximum impact and reach.
- Work as a trusted business partner, provide guidance and thought leadership on comms to the COOLT(Leadership Team), COO Senior Leaders and a variety of Managers to influence stakeholders.
- Work alongside business units within COO to run specific campaigns to fit their needs
- Work closely with central comms to keep across upcoming Co-op wide campaigns

**About you | Moe koe**
You will have a strategic communications mindset and would have held a Senior level communications role primarily focusing on internal comms across a large and complex organisation. The successful individual will have proven experience in implementing effective internal initiatives across a broad audience and will be able to engage, understand and prioritise all needs across the business.

Key skills are:

- Strong and proven Internal communications or marketing communications at a senior level
- Stakeholder management: able to build relationships at all levels of the business
- Change communication; including planning and delivering communications for complex projects.
- Strong storytelling
- ability to uncover great stories from inside the organisation and share it through a variety of channels.
- Can navigate multiple priorities, being proactive, flexible and with a can do attitude
