**What will you be doing?**

The Head of Internal Audit role plays an essential part in ensuring that Tower's directors, executive leadership team, and people act in a way that meets our customer and stakeholder standards for quality. In this role, you will lead and collaborate with the internal audit team to conduct independent audits to review the effectiveness of internal controls, reporting, and processing to ensure we are compliant with regulations, company policies and procedures, and our own Code of Conduct.

You will be a trusted advisor to the Board of Directors as well as key stakeholders across the business, building strong trusted relationships will be key as you will regularly be required to present audit findings and recommended remediation actions to this group.

You can expect to be across the following:

- Develop, implement and maintain audit strategies in line with Tower's Risk Management strategy.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify areas that require an audit focus.
- Build and improve our Audit framework across our NZ and Pacific operations.
- Work with the internal audit team to analyse audit finding reports ensuring the process is effective and the findings are accurate and clear.
- Coordinating reporting to Tower Senior Management and the Board Audit and Risk Committee
- Present audit findings and remediation actions to the Board of Directors, ELT and stakeholders when required.
- Work with key business leaders to action any remediation actions as a result of audit findings.
- Providing engaging, constructive, and inspiring leadership to the internal audit team, ensuring they are well supported and have ample development opportunities and growth.

**What you'll need**

You will be a natural influencer with a passion for developing a strong audit-focused culture across the organisation**. **You will be able to bring your high level of integrity, professionalism, and independence dealing with sensitive information.

**To be successful in this role, you will also be able to demonstrate the following**:

- 8+ years of internal audit/risk management experience preferred in addition to knowledge or qualifications in process improvement methodologies
- Appropriate industry qualification (CA/CPA/CIA) preferred.
- The ability to deal with a complex operational environment within the Financial Service Industry
- Experience working in a regulatory environment, ideally in Financial Services
- Experience developing and implementing audit strategy.
- Proven ability to build trusted relationships with Directors, Executive teams and senior leaders.
- Proven experience leading a high performing and engaged team with a love for developing and growing your team.
