The opportunity:
To ensure that all customers receive an experience that assists them through the claims process.

You will exhibit professionalism, fairness, and operate with urgency for the customer at all times. You will be responsible for the assessment, decision and accurate payment of Life and Trauma claims, achieved by respectfully liaising with clients, health professionals, BDMs, advisers, lawyers and other stakeholder.

About the role:
Some of the key responsibilities include:
- Growing and maintaining excellent product knowledge, past and present.- Assessing lump sum risk claims such as life and trauma.- Building and maintaining excellent relationships with clients, advisers and all relevant parties as required.- Gathering all claim requirements, liaise with customer about the requirements.- Liaising with all relevant parties including medical providers to obtain consultation notes and other claim information.- Documenting all conversations with clients, advisers, medical providers and any other relevant parties.- Communicating decisions to clients, advisers and other relevant parties that are respectful, clear and understandable.- Accurately inputting and authorising payments, following internal processes.- Maintaining assessment records, document storage and other relevant databases to ensure information is accurate and up-to-date.- Presenting cases to the relevant Committee if necessary, Claims Manager, and Medical Advisor for signoff and/or guidance as required.- Actively supporting other team members during periods of planed or unplanned leave and at time of high pressure.- Role modelling behaviour that supports a strong and positive culture.

About you:
- Proven ability to keep customers at the centre of all actions and prioritise work accordingly.-
- Empathetic and transparent approach to all communications, including written and verbal.-
- Ability to quickly build rapport and trusted relationships with our client and other stakeholders.-
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to be appropriately empathetic.-
- Strong planning and time management skills, and excellent attention to detail.-
- A team player dedicated to the success of the collective whole as well as individual goals.Strong ability to use Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.-
- Passed NCEA papers or equivalent in English and Maths.-
- Medical training/knowledge in medical terminology/anatomy (preferred).Why choose AIA?
