**Tēnei tūranga - About the role**:
We have a unique opportunity for an established senior manager to lead the secretariat supporting the independent Consumer Advocacy Council in making a real difference for our residential and business electricity consumers.

The purpose of the Council is to be the trusted, credible, authoritative advocate for small electricity consumers, operating independently of the industry, regulators and government.
Ngā pukenga me ngā wheako e hiahiatia ana - Skills and experience required:

- have a proven track record of achievement in an advisory and/or research role
- be able to manage budgets and ensure the Council receives effective administrative support services
- have the ability to develop and motivate a high performing team and manage external contractors
- proven ability working at all levels within government, being comfortable at partnering at a senior level
- be able to build constructive relationships with key government and non-government representatives to create awareness of and links with the Council
- ideally have knowledge of the electricity industry in New Zealand; aware of the opportunities and challenges our market faces.
- must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand
