Toka Tū Ake EQC is a Crown entity with a mission to reduce the impact of natural disasters on people and property. We’re a support partner to people in their greatest hour of need when dealing with the results of earthquakes, floods, landslips, cyclones, geothermal activity and other natural disasters on land and residential property. The purpose of the Senior Māori Engagement Advisor role is to support the design and implementation of engagement with iwi, hapū, and Māori for Toka Tū Ake EQC. Toka Tū Ake EQC is committed to doing better for all New Zealanders, and this means engaging and partnering with Māori to achieve this. This role will provide engagement advice and leadership across the organisation and deliver on and maintain the Māori engagement strategy.

**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and Experience**
- Confidence in engaging strategically with Māori organisations, whānau, hapū and iwi.
- A track record of supporting the implementation of Māori strategy or Māori development across an organisation.
- Credibility and mana to influence, build and sustain good relationships with stakeholders including those who have a limited understanding of Te Ao Māori.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities to tailor complex messages to diverse audiences.
- Understanding of te ao Māori, mātauranga Māori, te reo me ona tikanga.
- You will also contribute to strategic frameworks and processes to ensure they affirm and elevate Te Ao Māori perspectives and knowledge systems, to improve Māori development across an organisation.
