A permanent full time opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled International Student Support Team Leader to lead our Auckland Student Support Team.

As the Team Leader you will lead the day-to-day operations for the International Student Support and Accommodation Operations at the Auckland campus, your primary responsibility is to oversee the team's commitment to the Code of Practice for the pastoral care of International Students. You will lead a team in providing comprehensive support services to international students, ensuring they have access to accurate advice and care. Your focus will be on delivering high-quality, relationship-focused service to both internal and external stakeholders, with a particular emphasis on enhancing the student experience. Additionally, you will spearhead initiatives to improve support systems and ensure that the Eastern Institute of Technology remains a leader in international student education.

**Key Responsibilities for the role include**:

- Managing the day-to-day operational aspects of the team and coordinating workload planning where needed.
- Provide supervision, support and advice to the staff within the team.
- Oversight of the student support budget for the EIT Auckland campus.
- Collaborating closely with the Hawke’s Bay International Student Support team to maintain consistency in student support delivery.
- Developing and managing a triage system for categorising student support issues, in partnership with the Senior Administrator of International Business Operations.
- Leading community engagement initiatives and networking activities for the international student body.
- Liaising with the Student Disability & Wellbeing Advisor and EIT International Centre staff as necessary.
- Supporting the team in addressing individual student requirements by offering or organising support and advocacy promptly, ensuring timely provision of advice and pastoral care in alignment with EIT policies and regulations.
- Acting as the 24/7 emergency contact for international students.
- Experience in team leadership with the ability to manage and coordinate a professional, high-quality delivery from a team.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion, tact and diplomacy and knowledge of legal privacy framework for dealing with confidential issues
- Proficiency and background in crafting, creating, and implementing support strategies and procedures tailored to the needs of international students within the higher education setting.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural setting and sensitivity to the needs of international students.
- Hold a full Drivers Licence.
- Demonstrated experience in learning management systems, databases and services including the ability to generate reports, ability to use the internet and demonstrated skills using MS Office suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
