- ACG Sunderland is a leading independent co-educational school with excellent facilities and a reputation for outstanding educational outcomes. We are seeking an **experienced**, proactive guidance counsellor to support our Sunderland students. The key tasks of the role are to provide a high standard of support for students, to promote emotional and mental wellbeing, self-confidence and resilience. **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Student guidance, support and education
- Counselling and advice for students
- Education for staff (general information to support students, how to motivate learners etc)
- Grief support to students

**THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE**:

- have an appropriate professional qualification and hold a relevant, professional membership/registration.
- have relevant experience in working with children and/or young people.
- be committed to working collaboratively with whānau, staff and external partners to provide counselling/social work and wellbeing services for our school community.
