**Mō mātou/**About us**

The Office of the Chief Justice | Te Tari Toko i te Tumu Whakawā (Te Tari), supports the independent judicial arm of government. It supports the Chief Justice, President of the Court of Appeal, and Chief Judge of the High Court, in their leadership and administrative responsibilities.

The Judicial Services Team is responsible for managing and supporting approximately 60 clerks and 70 associates who provide administrative and legal research support for 71 judges within the Senior Courts across five court locations nationwide.

These staff work under the direction of the judiciary: the support they provide enables judges to perform their duties efficiently and effectively.

Judges support needs differ between individuals and between courts. They are also evolving in response to changes in the courts operating environment including changes in technology.
