About the role
A unique opportunity has been created within our National Office to join a team that is dedicated to changing the way that New Zealanders interact with Government online.
We're focused on connecting people and communities through our digital channels to ensure they can easily access the services and support they need to improve their social wellbeing.
Working with the wider Digital Portfolio, you'll be providing strategic advice on our digital channels to maximise performance and delivery of our digital services.
You'll play an important part in developing the digital channel strategy and providing oversight on the delivery of digital initiatives across the Ministry and across the wider government.
Your strong knowledge of end-to-end user experience design, exceptional communication skills and ‘digital first' approach will help to inform and drive changes to the way we deliver digital services to our clients.

Skills and experience
**To be successful in this role, you'll have**:
- Experience in providing high quality strategic advice
- A strong understanding of digital best practice with a focus on the user experience - An interest in current and emerging digital technologies and trends
- An aptitude to using and interpreting website analytics and channel insights to improve user experience and drive engagement
- The ability to clearly articulate complex concepts to a wide range of key stakeholders - Confidence in taking initiative and managing multiple pieces of work at the same time
- Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships and work collaboratively across teams
- A flare for thinking ‘outside-the-box', demonstrating your creativity and innovation skills to effectively solve problems
- Ability to lead the adoption of a ‘digital first' culture across organisations to drive an improved client experience and growth outcomes in digital channels
- Sound knowledge of the strategic issues facing the Government and the Ministry
- A degree level qualification relevant to the role, or equivalent relevant business experience

**Salary range**: $99,546.00 - $120,778.00
