The opportunity:
We currently have a 12 month fixed-term opportunity for a Claims Manager to lead and develop our Claims Management Team to support the management of Disability Income claims. Reporting to the Head of Claims, you’ll motivate the team to ensure effective processing and management of new and existing claims, while continuously reviewing and improving processes to achieve high performance.

About the role:
- Manage and lead a team of Case Managers and Specialists to ensure effective and timely processing of new and existing claims.- Oversee the effective performance of the team, ensuring good claims decisions and positive customer experiences.- Identify and execute process improvement initiatives that will enable the team to achieve productivity, efficiency, and service targets.- Build a digital philosophy into the business plan for the team improving year on year e-submission and interaction rates- Build a highly engaged and focused team of professionals, providing support, training, coaching and direction needed for individuals to achieve their objectives.- Implement and oversee the management of team goals that are aligned to the overall Claims and Customer strategy.- Advocate for AIA and specifically the Claims team with key stakeholders (internal and external) including advisers, re-insurers and medical providers.- Assist with project work and system enhancements across the team and wider organisation as required.

About you:
For this role, you will need the following skills and experience:
- Significant industry experience- Proven expertise in leading or significantly contributing to a high performing team (3-5 years' leadership experience preferred)- Influencing and negotiation skills- Ability to meet critical timeframes and deadlines- Excellent written and oral communication skills- Problem solving and conflict resolution skills- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs- Managing risk experience- Relationship management skills- Relevant degree or equivalent work experience
