We are looking for a qualified Telecommunication Technician to join our team of Krishna Communications Ltd. As part of your profile, you will be required to work in the Auckland region. As a telecommunications technician, you will be responsible for installing fibre connections to homes and business premises across the region. This role requires working in multiple locations and may involve weekend work.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Physically install Fibre optic, Category be Structured Cable Distribution Systems
- UFB(Ultra-Fast Broadband) Network design and installation.
- Programming ONT (Optical Network Terminal).
- Installing and Configuring Modem/Router.
- Installation of outlets, pulling cable and pre-termination including organizing, forming, dressing and labelling cables to industry standards.
- Cabling multi story building through existing routes.
- Installation of voice outlets, pulling cable or pre-termination including organising, forming, dressing and labelling cables to industry standard
- Inspecting and testing lines, cables, recording and analysing test results to assess transmission characteristics and locating faults or malfunctions.
- Installs, maintains/repairs, and tests residential/small business telecommunication
- service (POTS and DSL).
- Connects wires and cables to terminals, and attaches/detaches various kinds of hardware to wires, cables and buildings.
- Mounting, Installation of BUDI, FTP, ONT and connecting to FAT, Cabinet.
- Terminate, assemble and install 8-pin modular connectors and coaxial connectors in existing or new network system.
- splice cables using hand tools, epoxy or mechanical equipment.
- Measure signal strength using electronic test equipments.
- Accurately test copper and fiber (multimode and single mode) cables to required certification parameters utilizing appropriate test equipment as required.
- Diagnose and correct copper and optical fiber problems.
- Plans network installations by studying customer order plans, manuals and technical specifications, ordering and gathering equipment, tools and materials accessing installation site, preparing an installation diagram.
- Determine closet and equipment layouts and install closet hardware including backboards, connecting blocks, racks, patch panels and fiber enclosures.
- Fiber optic cabling and Fusion splicing in commercial and domestic properties (FTH project).
- Maintains/repairs and tests Fiber optic and Data cable in an underground, aerial, or buried Environment.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading publications.
- Maintain safe work environment by following codes, standards, and legal regulations.
- Setup service for customers, installing, connecting, testing or adjusting equipment.
- Troubleshoots problems that will require cable repair, cable maintenance, air pressure, splicing, fault-finding, etc.
- Makes splicing rearrangements on existing facilities in buried, underground, aerial and building work locations.
- Maintains network by troubleshooting and repairing outages, testing network backup procedure, updating documentation for that.
- Verifies service by testing circuits, equipment, and alarm, identifying, correcting or escalating problems.
- Attend training and safety meetings. Work safely at all times utilizing the necessary Personal Protection Equipment. Demonstrate safe working practices to other technicians.
- Serve as a liaison between office and field, communicating all information that is not classified as confidential.
- Connects wire and cables to terminals and attaches/ detaches various kinds of hardware to wire cables and buildings.
- Perform administrative tasks including, but not limited to, documenting test results and as-builts, completing safety reports and customer consent forms etc.

**Requirements**:

- Qualification in Computing/Networking/Information Technology /Electrical/ Telecommunications, and/or Telecommunications Engineering OR have a Minimum of 4 years experience as a Telecommunication Technician
- Basic knowledge of fibre optics and splicing
- Have good communication skills, both oral and written
- Physically fit and healthy.
- Able to work on weekends and public holidays.
- Able to start early and finish late when required.
- Hold a Class I driving license from New Zealand or an equivalent overseas license to drive a vehicle to commute.

- Competitive pay rate between $28 to $35 per hour, depending on the expertise of applicant.
