**Mō tēnei tūranga - about the role**
The Region Fleet Coordinator will support operations by managing the fleet in the region over its whole life, including the introduction of new fire appliances and other vehicles to the region, managing the repair and maintenance of the existing fleet, and disposing of end-of-life vehicles.
By working with our contractors and suppliers you will ensure that the fleet is operationally ready and maintained at a safe standard and by collaborating with career and volunteer staff will guarantee requirements are understood, improvement opportunities are captured, and staff have the vehicles they need to do the job.
**Ko tāu nā i tēnei tūranga - What you’ll bring to the role**:
Bring together your considerable experience in heavy vehicle maintenance and repair and relationship management skills to manage our fleet in the Canterbury. This is a chance for you to utilise your technical knowledge within a supportive team and get involved in an interesting and rewarding industry. There is a good mix of work in the office and getting out and about in the field.
**To be successful in this role, we’d expect you will**:
- Have a qualification in heavy vehicle servicing and repair and will have worked in this industry at supervisory level
- Proven experience in managing the scheduling and oversight of vehicle fleet maintenance
- Demonstrable experience in managing effective relationships with service providers and customers
- Experience in working in an environment that has a nationally and geographically dispersed vehicle operation
- Good computer skills
