**Aeronautical Radio Telecommunications Systems Design Engineer**:
**About us**:
Airways provides air traffic management services across 30 million square kilometres and operates at 19 aerodromes throughout New Zealand.

You will be part of the Technology Group that is responsible for the life cycle asset management and service provision of over 40 key systems spread across 260 locations throughout New Zealand and the Pacific.

Aviation is evolving rapidly, and Airways continues to implement new technology for domestic and international customers. Examples include Drone Detection and Remote-Control Tower Operations through to future satellite-based Communications, Surveillance and Navigation solutions.

**About the role**:
Reporting to the CNS Systems Manager, where the focus of the role is to take a lifecycle approach from requirements, design, installation and commissioning along with providing escalated support using a safety by design systems methodology to our critical aeronautical communications, navigation and surveillance assets used by Airways New Zealand and our overseas clients. This vacancy is in our Christchurch based engineering team and better known inside Airways as (Communications, Navigation and Surveillance Systems Engineer).

The successful applicant will hold a bachelor’s degree qualification along with experience in radio and communications technology. Your genuine passion for aviation, transport or technology industries will equally be valued, along with your strengths in analysis, problem solving, teamwork and communication.
