Head of Sales and Business Development

We're looking for a Sales and Business Development Manager with a passion for cutting-edge technology and the agri sector, to join a growing agritech start-up looking to disrupt the pivot irrigated dairy industry. This is a rare and unique opportunity for a dynamic, high-achieving individual to set up and lead our sales strategy for initial market penetration and product uptake.
Role Description
This role spans end-to-end sales from setting higher level sales strategy, to taking both warm leads, and chasing cold leads. You will be holding demo days, presenting at events, and setting up on-farm meetings to deeply understand our customers' farm systems, detailing Nanobubble Agritech's value proposition to progress the sale and ultimately, closing the deal.
Based in Canterbury, the right candidate will be a real go-getter, someone who is out in the field, meeting farmers, championing Nanobubble Agritech, and converting them into customers. You will be a foundational team member and major contributor to the growth and success of our company, with the opportunity to take full ownership of all New Zealand sales and/or operations within the Canterbury region.
This is a huge opportunity for a mid to high level sales manager with the right experience, networks, and contacts, looking for a challenge.
Initially, the role is offered as part time within the Canterbury region, with the goal of growing to full time within the next 12 months as the client base grows. Ideally, this role will grow to lead a national sales team full time.
Responsibilities will include:
- Building sales and marketing strategy to establish and maintain a strong company brand
- Sourcing new leads and opportunities through proactive outreach, referrals/introductions, industry events, and other channels as well as fielding and responding to inbound inquiries
- Meeting high-growth sales targets by managing pipeline through to close including screening, qualifying, and successfully negotiating contracts with customers
- Leveraging industry networks, opportunities, and participating in relevant industry events and demonstrations.
The successful candidate will have:
- A thirst to prove themselves, forge their own path, and be rewarded for their work ethic and performance
- Demonstrated track record in sales within the agri sector (experience selling high value capital items and machinery a plus)
- Experience and knowledge of the irrigation or dairy sectors (existing contacts and relationships within the South Island irrigated dairy market a plus)
- Excellent communication, client relationship, and negotiating skills.
