Job Overview & Purpose:
The Analyst, Safety and Wellbeing forms part of the 1st line of defence and assists the Safety and Wellbeing Manager and the Head of Shared Services NZ to drive the Bank's adoption and implementation of the Rabobank Safety and Wellbeing and Health and Safety at Work Act (HSWA) Framework.
The Analyst Safety and Wellbeing supports the ongoing deliver and continued improvements of our Safety and Wellbeing processes, that leads to building a mature health and safety culture, influencing positive safety leadership behaviours to prevent harm and achieve organisational objectives.
Context of Job:
Effective management of HSWA is critical to the safety and wellbeing of Rabobank staff and customers.
The Analyst, Safety and Wellbeing is responsible for working with the Safety and
Wellbeing Manager to:
- Influence and promote an organisational culture of personal accountability to deliver a consistently high standard of health and safety outcomes.
- Align the HSWA activities of the business divisions and influencing the improved integration of effective WHS management strategies and initiatives to achieve consistency of better practice and minimum standards across Rabobank.
- Influence the ownership of the Safety and Wellbeing System requirements with stakeholders ensuring compliance with policy and standards.
The role consults with the Safety and Wellbeing Manager to identify priorities and is expected to provide high quality outcomes within established priorities as directed.
The role is fully accountable for the quality and integrity of advice provided.
The role consults with the Safety and Wellbeing Manager on complex issues of a technical, legislative or sensitive nature or decisions that will substantially alter the outcome or timeframes, major issues or conflicts arising in the course duties.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Assist the Senior Manager COO Risk and Compliance, the Head of Shared Services and the broader COO Management Team to drive strong workplace health and safety practices in Rabobank New Zealand.
- Deliver tailored projects, processes and work practices that align with the Safety and Wellbeing Management System (SMS) requirements appropriate to the operational environment as directed by the Safety and Wellbeing Manager and in consultation with stakeholders.
- Provide knowledge, advice and coaching across HSWA legislation, policies and processes to key stakeholders and support the implementation of HSWA solutions to influence better practice HSWA performance and regulatory compliance.
- Support the Safety and Wellbeing Manager as directed in the effective implementation of the SMS aligned to the risk environment and operational context to support the safe delivery of Rabobank assets, and services delivery.
- Deliver safety reports, audit and inspection findings, including the reporting of hazards, incidents, near misses and nonconformances to support executive decision making and enable actions for continuous improvement.
- Review and advise on safety improvement plans and coordinate the development of plans within required timeframes and undertake assurance to identify issues and risks and support the delivery of safety outcomes across Rabobank.
- Participate as directed in safety incident investigations and ensure that actions are completed in a timely manner.
- Train, develop and mentor Business Unit personnel on the safety and wellbeing management framework and associated processes.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Diploma of Health and Safety or similar qualification in Health and Wellbeing.
Desirable:
(Optional)
- Bachelor's Degree or International Equivalent.
Experience:
- Essential:
- A minimum of 2+ years' experience in analysis related roles within Banking or Finance sector.
- Experience in conducting reviews, analysis of data, investigations and providing reports.
- Must have experience in agriculture and farming industry.
Knowledge:
- Health and Safety or Health and Wellbeing related discipline.
Skills:
Essential:
- An understanding of risk management within the banking and finance sector.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable:
- Experience managing stakeholders and dealing with senior management and business and commercial teams.
