Our Opportunity:


Mercury has a significant number of large, high-profile, electricity generation projects both in train and planned for the next 15 years.


As Project Portfolio Analyst you'll provide the standard for project reporting and governance, tracks and maintains the generation projects overview and sets the standard for how benefit realisation is measured and captured.


You will be able to play a part in decarbonising NZ, working for, and contributing to renewable energy development and optimisation of strategic power generation assets.

You will contribute to the successful delivery of our pipeline of projects by:

  • Refining and maintaining the generation project methodology and processes.
  • Owning the Project team SharePoint site and management of knowledge.
  • Owning and developing the Project Cost Management tool
  • Supporting the simplification of the project delivery framework based on human centred design.
  • Assessing the delivery of projects and lessons learnt to refine and simplify the process.
  • Supporting the culture of prioritisation within Mercury, ensuring that people are focused on the most important things.
  • Presenting the updated generation projects portfolio report quarterly, ensuring it is human centred
  • Creating system and support system for project reporting to ensure they are delivering to the business case parameters.

We are looking for:

  • Tertiary qualification in relevant discipline (commerce, engineering) is desirable
  • Previous Project Management or Project Administration Experience
  • Confident user of Excel, Power BI, MS Project an advantage
  • Stakeholder management skills with confidence in influencing
  • Data and financial analytical skills, with an ability to turn strategies into actionable initiatives.
  • Can synthesise information and data into digestible business intelligence and insights.
