If you are looking for either that next step early in your process improvement career or are at the intermediate level and looking for a change, then we'd love to hear from you.

We are offering either an entry or senior level opportunity dependent on the skills and experience you bring to the table.

The Business Improvement team provides expertise to improve and design the services provided by the group to our customers.

The key areas of focus are:

  • Service management and design,
  • Continuous Improvement and,
  • The development of performance measures for the group


You will be able to support a variety of change initiatives across Te Pou Rangatōpū | Corporate and within the Ministry.

We are looking for your ability to work with project leads and those being affected by change, to plan and deliver initiatives using business improvement approaches, tools, and processes.

To be successful in this role you will have proven experience and knowledge in service development and continuous improvement focused on delivering better outcomes for customers.


You will offer:

  • Experience using recognised approaches and methodologies e.g., Lean Six Sigma or Userbased design, preferably supported by a suitable qualification / certification.
  • Skills in collecting and communicating voice of the customer and customer experiences to stakeholders.
  • Strong technical, process mapping, root cause and business analysis skills
  • Experience evaluating and assessing the impacts of change with stakeholders and the ability to provide solutions for managing impacts.


You'll be joining a team that is focused on collaboration and sharing expertise and knowledge of all members in the team.

At Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga, we work to provide services and support nationally, regionally, and locally to the education sector, and in some cases, directly to ākonga and whanau.

To better deliver on this, we are currently undergoing an organisational design change. The transition phase to improve the way we deliver our purpose will be complete in 2023.

  • Corporate Applications
  • People systems, analytics, and insight
  • Business Continuity
