Te Puna Aonui is seeking a talented Senior Business Services Advisor to lead all business services for a busy team of around 50 staff.


This will be a great role for someone who likes to be busy and to interact with people on a regular basis.

The Senior Business Services Advisor is a key team member in the Office of the Director of Te Puna Aonui.


He pūkenga tou/Skills and Experience

  • Welldeveloped written and verbal communication skills
  • Good working knowledge of government finance, procurement and budget processes
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret complex documents, including legislation, financial, numerical and business information.
  • Welldeveloped verbal, written and numerical communication skills
  • Formal project management skills would be an advantage
Relationship management and excellent customer service skills will be the defining characteristics for success in this role.

This is a busy team with plenty of demands for business services, so excellent organisation and time management are also essential, so too highly developed administration skills and the ability to work autonomously.


Work Experience

  • Previous experience researching, analysing, and developing workable solutions to complex problems
  • Proven experience in working with senior leaders in a large and complex organisation, preferably within the public sector
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret complex documents, including financial, numerical and business information, especially as it relates to group performance and productivity
  • Understanding of government processes, including planning, reporting, budgeting, human resourcing and procurement processes
  • Experience in customer service

Mō te tīma/About our Team


Te Puna Aonui is made up of ten government agencies and was established to eliminate family violence and sexual violence in New Zealand.

The Te Puna Aonui Unit supports the Joint Venture to operate, including by being the Government's lead advisor on family violence and sexual violence from a whole system perspective.

We lead with influence and collaboration to provide space, focus and momentum for government, Māori, communities, NGOs and private organisations to work together.


We work with our partners to provide strategic policy advice and recommendations to the Joint Venture and to Government, including on the strategic direction and actions to take.

We ensure our advice is based on best practice, evidence and includes the voice of lived experience.

We establish and maintain relationships with our partners, designing and developing better solutions that bring about transformative change and establishing effective governance.

We monitor and report on the financial and non-financial performance of the family violence and sexual violence system. We role model the change we wish to see and are a facilitator for Māori Crown partnerships.

The appointing salary for this role will be between $84,366 and $110,172 based on skills and experience.
