Tēnei tūranga - About the Role:
A new Ministerial portfolio has been created with an objective to provide advice on Auckland issues and enable coordination across government portfolios.
Concurrently, the Minister for Auckland is the Minister for the recovery activities in Auckland and Thames Coromandel.A small team has been established to support the Minister for Auckland. The team will provide administrative and policy advice and will help deliver the Ministers priorities.
The team will be located within MBIE and will work collaboratively across government, with local government, the business sector and a wide range of community groups.
The team will work closely with the Minister for Auckland and his Ministerial staff. The team will support the Minister's advisory groups for Auckland and Thames Coromandel.
Senior Ministerial Services Advisors contribute to the operations of Ministerial Servicing and are responsible for providing a high quality official correspondence drafting service to the team.
The Senior Ministerial Services Advisor is responsible for ensuring quality and consistency of advice and practice in relation to both their contribution and also to the broader team's work, and ensuring effective stakeholder relationships.
The Senior Ministerial Services Advisor will take a lead in prioritising, and assist with practice, programme and service development initiatives or projects.

Skills and Experience Required
To work in this role you'll need to love an intellectual challenge and won't be afraid of ambiguity.
We are looking for someone with:
- Experience in writing responses to OIAs and Ministerial correspondence, and a readiness to respond to other requests for ministerial writing services (e.g. PQs).
- Innovation and eagerness to explore and evaluate new operational delivery practices.
- Ability to produce and recognise high quality work and provide peer support, coaching and technical advice to colleagues.
- Ability to focus on both strategic and operational issues.
- A demonstrated ability to form robust professional working relationships, which includes collaboration and cooperation with internal and external stakeholders when developing new models and systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail and a high level of accuracy.
- The ability to quickly assimilate new information or areas of work
