We are excited to be hiring a superstar Volunteer Retention and Connection Coordinator to join our team. Volunteer services are a critical delivery mechanism to change the lives of blind, deaf-blind and low vision New Zealanders.

A recently renewed national strategy means we have the mandate to take our volunteering services and the care and experience we provide for our volunteers to the next level.

Reporting to the Head of Volunteering, this role will help ensure BLVNZ remains a volunteer organisation of choice in Aotearoa by:

· Helping design and undertake retention initiatives, including running reward and recognition programmes.

· Identifying and managing 3rd party partnership opportunities as part of volunteer reward and recognition.

· Sourcing and collating volunteer feedback and reporting on insights .

· Working with the Volunteer Services team to support the delivery of strategic initiatives .

· Handling administration tasks as required for the role.

Ko wai koe | About you

You will be well versed in reward / recognition and event management in the not-for-profit sector, ideally in the volunteering domain. You'll also have:

· A minimum of 3 years' experience of administration and event planning.

· Knowledge of best practice relating to volunteer connection and a deep understanding of what makes volunteers tick.

· Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a solution focused lens .

· A strategic thinker, able to translate strategy and goals into plans and actionable initiatives .

· Excellent oral and written communication skills along with sound listening skills.

· Strong relationship building, collaboration skills and ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholder groups.

· Ability to challenge convention, develop/implement change and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

· Experience with CRM systems, preferably SalesForce for not-for-profits .

· Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and online tools .

· Working knowledge and understanding of social media and content development .
