City Sanctuary Predator Free Community Ranger - Fixed Term
The City Sanctuary Project is one of three Predator Free Dunedin projects that are working towards making Dunedin predator free by 2050.
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a full-time fixed-term Community Ranger.
You will be training residents and volunteers to undertake best practice urban predator control and undertaking multispecies trapping across Dunedin City.
Your responsibilities within this role include the following:
- Activating and supporting individuals to participate in backyard trapping
- Training and supporting volunteers to conduct trapping and monitoring in reserves
- Managing predator control and monitoring in reserves
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
- Minimum 2 years proven experience in conservation/wildlife management related field work, and experience using current pest control tools and technology including Trap.
- A confident, outgoing personality that enjoys working with the public
- Have a good knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements
- A full New Zealand driver's license
