Te tūranga - The role In this leadership position you will support the continuous improvement and growth in maturity of the procurement function by ensuring greater value for money for New Zealanders through better procurement practice, contract and supplier management.

As the manager of our vital procurement function at The Reserve Bank of New Zealand - Te Pūtea Matua, you will be required to collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation providing technical leadership, guidance, and support.

You will deliver high quality advice across our organisation, focused procurement approaches and procurement planning with the aim to uplift our procurement maturity.

You will be leading a small team where work is picked up and shared to manage workflow and deadlines. The team is part of a supportive and collaborative department.

Ō pūkenga - About youWe are looking for a motivated person with proven leadership, procurement, influencing and relationship management skills.

You will need to demonstrate communication skills and have a positive, enthusiastic "can-do" attitude and be a team player.

You'll bring:

  • Experience and deep knowledge of AoG procurement processes.
  • An ability to bring together stakeholders needs with good procurement practices to ensure fairness and transparency in procurement processes.
  • An ability to communicate internally and externally with a range of stakeholders, and utilise your influencing skills to bring people on a journey.
  • The ability and experience to guide, mentor and coach other colleagues with varying levels of professional experience.
  • Experience improving processes, where you identify and manage the implementation of opportunities to streamline procurement activities.
  • A calm, collaborative and approachable way of working and managing a team.
