Our Oncology and Palliative Care department is located in Christchurch Hospital, this department specialises in seeing and treating patients diagnosed and being treated for Cancer.

This is a primarily outpatient focused service seeing approximately 57,000 patients in our outpatient service each year.

As a Clinical Administrator, you will be working in this fast-paced environment.

You will play a key role in our service, helping to achieve the best outcomes for our tūroro (patients) and whanaū while working within a great kapa (team).

This is a full-time permanent position based in Christchurch Hospital.

As part of the Administration and Clerical Pay Equity Claim settlement this role has been mapped to National Band4 / Profile 4

This role will see you providing quality secretarial support to a busy but very friendly department.

Your role will predominantly involve:

  • Coordinating appointments with our clinicians and tūroro (patients)
  • Transcribing clinical dictation
  • Collating information and ensuring completeness of the record
  • Various administration tasks
  • Providing excellent customer service
  • Managing clinics

Your skills will include:

  • Excellent organisational, time management and problemsolving skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work unsupervised
  • Intermediate user in Microsoft suite of products e.g. Word, Outlook, Excel
  • Customer service and communication skills
  • Typing skills WPM)
