Orthopaedicsis a busy service that provides both acute and planned elective orthopaedicsurgery to the population of Canterbury and the wider region, based at Christchurch Hospital.

We areseeking a highly motivated and organized Clinical Administrator to join ourteam. The primary purpose of this role is to ensure that patient bookingpractices adhere to Health NZ Te Whatu Ora Waitaha Canterbury standards andMinistry of Health targets.

As aClinical Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in managing the bookingprocesses for outpatient clinic appointments andtranscription of clinical notes. Youwill work closely with the Team Leader, Service Manager, and ClinicalDirector/Triaging Clinician to ensure patients receive timely treatment withinestablished guidelines.

This position is initially Fixed term until October 2024 with the possibility of it going permanent.

As part ofthe Administration and Clerical Pay Equity Claim settlement this role hasbeen mapped to National Band 4 /Profile 4A

  • Provide excellentcustomer service to patients, clinicians, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain patientconfidentiality and privacy.
  • Standardize processesusing the SI PICS system and Waitaha Canterbury Elective ServicesGuidelines.
  • Prioritize patientbookings based on need and planned care requirements.
  • Coding and date entryof relevant patient informaiton.
  • Excellent customerservice skills with a people-focused approach.
  • Technical proficiency,including experience with data systems and the ability to quickly learnnew applications/systems.
  • Strong organizational,time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of accuracyand attention to detail.
  • Ability to meetdeadlines and work independently.
  • Effective coordinationand multitasking abilities.
  • Team player withintermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Exceptional keyboardskills.
  • Demonstratedperceptiveness and proactive approach in an administrative role.
  • Broad administrativeexperience in a health-related field.
  • Awareness of diversecultural backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of medicalterminology.
  • Familiarity with thepublic hospital system, including patient management systems.
