How you'll make an impact


As Global Sustainability Reporting Manager you will be responsible for making sure Xero's social licence to operate is protected and enhanced through the delivery of timely, accurate and high-quality reporting.

You'll help Xero successfully navigate the global sustainability reporting and compliance landscape by keeping abreast of new and emerging regulations and producing the disclosures that fulfil Xero's growing reporting obligations around the world.

You will undertake Xero's annual materiality assessment, identifying the sustainability issues that are most important to our people, customers, partners and investors and shaping our public reporting to align with these.

You will be involved in key cross-company projects such as our twice-yearly earnings announcement, Annual Report, Modern Slavery Statement and submissions to certification bodies and awards.

You'll also work closely with our compliance and legal teams to help us stay on top of our growing list of global sustainability obligations.


What you'll do:

  • Proactively understand and manage Xero's sustainabilityrelated compliance and regulatory obligations
  • Identify gaps between Xero's current sustainability disclosures and new and emerging reporting regimes and coordinate crossfunctional task forces to address these as required
  • Conduct Xero's annual materiality assessment and prepare the outcomes for senior leadership and Board review
  • Produce Xero's annual Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement and regular updates to the Audit and Risk Management Committee on progress against public commitments
  • Produce sustainability reports mandated under local legislation in Australia, the UK, the US, New Zealand and other jurisdictions as required, including as part of Xero's Annual Report
  • Produce Xero's annual CDP report for our global operations and other certification reports and submissions as required
  • Work closely with the Finance ESG Manager to understand sustainability performance data and successfully communicate Xero's progress against sustainability targets to internal and external audiences
  • Complete reports and documentation required for Xero to obtain and maintain relevant ESG rankings and index inclusions

What you'll bring with you - Critical competencies:

  • A strong understanding of sustainability reporting principles and standards, including the ISSB and reporting requirements in at least one of Australia, NZ, the UK and/or the US
  • Excellent written communication skills, with a demonstrated attention to detail
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects and prioritise work effectively
  • Willingness to work in a global business, across multiple time zones
  • Ability to deliver at pace to tight deadlines

What you'll bring with you - Experience:

  • 5+ years working in relevant sustainability-related reporting, policy, consulting, compliance or legal services
  • Undergraduate degree in arts, law, sustainability, environmental or social sciences
  • Demonstrated experience working with or interpreting policy, legislation and guidance
  • Demonstrated experience producing highquality corporate reporting, policy or research documents for publication
