About the role


Sitting within the Hamilton Leadership Team and reporting to SkyCity Hamilton General Manager (with dotted line to Group GM-Risk), as the Head of Risk and Compliance you will be responsible for providing leadership and support to reduce risk and ensure compliance at SkyCity Hamilton, seeking constant improvement and enhancing brand reputation.

You will also;

  • Lead the Security and Host Responsibility teams and functions at SkyCity Hamilton
  • Provide advice and support to minimise risk and ensure compliance at SkyCity Queenstown
  • Support Group Risk to deploy the risk and assurance frameworks adopted by SkyCity
  • Ensure risk registers and emergency management plans are in place and are regularly updated
  • Minimise the risk of fraud through robust processes and investigations
  • Support department managers to meet legal and compliance requirements
  • Follow up any compliance breaches and make recommendations for improvements to minimise risk
  • Assist with the auditprocess and actively follow up issues raised through audits and reviews
  • Maintain a strong profile and positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, aiding SkyCity Hamilton to maintain a positive reputation
This is a Full Time opportunity, working 40 hours per week.

About you


It'll be your strong leadership aptitude, excellent communication & relationship building skills and your solid experience in a hands-on risk or compliance function within a complex and highly regulated industry that will make you a great fit for SkyCity.

To be successful in this role, you will also;

  • Hold demonstrable experience in implementing and supporting a positive risk or compliance culture
  • Have strong analysis skills, including effective report writing and oral communication
  • Be resultsfocussed and actionoriented with a continuous improvement ethic
Security and investigative skills, Experience and/or understanding of Gambling Act, Host Responsibility and AML would also be highly advantageous.
