About the Team:

The Research, Analysis and Intelligence (RAI) team sits within the OSS business group. This team works across the organisation, with high levels of interaction with other business groups.

The RAI team purpose is to provide analytical expertise to generate and share insights that support and guide Maritime NZ decision making.

We innovate and experiment with new products and data to continuously improve our support to MNZ. We bring together the organisation's cross-functional expertise in intelligence, research, spatial and data analysis.

What you'll do:


As the Insights Coordinator you'll provide accurate and effective coordination support of the RAI Team's analytical production process, including managing the flow of information/data.

You'll ensure our business and operational processes are carried out efficiently to deliver insights from our analytical and intelligence programmes of work to the wider organisation.

Your role will involve interactions across Maritime NZ and externally, and have contact with a wide range of people in various roles.


Day to day your role will include:

  • Information and intelligence data collection and collation
  • Curating RAI data, analysis, research, and report content on Maritime NZ's intranet/internet, and in internal publications
  • Coordinating RAI work requests
  • Providing general analytical support

What we're looking for:

  • Strong skills across all the MS Office suite including Outlook, Excel, PowerBI and Word
  • A high level of IT literacy and a willingness and ability to learn new software particularly for web and intranet content
  • Proven experience working with multiple data/information sources across a range of areas
  • Previous information management/intelligence support experience would be an advantage and a willingness to work towards achieving an intelligence qualifications is desired
  • An eye for web content would be an asset layout and readability of team content to make it accessible for a range of users
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Excellent communication skills and experience tailoring communications to suit the audience
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance is essential
