  • Exceptional planning skills with a focus on delivery and continuous improvement
  • Strong alignment with the Waka Kotahi values and behaviors

  • Knowledge of the land transport system and/or regulation

You should demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. Additionally, an understanding of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector is valuable.

The Regulatory Performance and Insights function by Waka Kotahi undertakes a holistic approach to provide hindsight, insight, foresight, and oversight to enhance the effectiveness, efficiency, resilience, and fairness of the land transport regulatory system. We recommend exploring our regulatory strategy, Tu Ake, Tu Maia, to learn more about how Waka Kotahi and partners regulate the land transport system for the safety of New Zealanders.
