About the opportunity


We are looking for a Facilities Maintenance Planner to join our high performing Distribution Centre (DC) Asset Team based ideally at our Hautapu site, but also support our Cranford St, Te Rapa, Canpac and Te Awamutu sites.

In this varied role, you will be responsible for facilities management and asset maintenance including planning, scheduling and executing maintenance work, as well as assisting with the asset care and reliability programs within sites across the region.

You will oversee the work orders process and manage our SAP system including raising, receipting, and closing of purchase orders.

Reporting to the Regional Asset Manager, this role is instrumental in controlling future of asset care and driving efficiency.

This is a key role within the DC Asset Team that requires strong coordination, technical understanding, and teamwork to help meet NZDC (Distribution Centres) asset needs both now and into the future.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Ability to identify the types of trade involved and related time requirements.
  • Travel to sites within Waikato Region to meet with vendors and site operational teams
  • Ownership of NZDC regional asset reporting including monthly costs and invoicing, supplier reports and wider financial analysis and reporting
  • Strategic planning of large maintenance sites and coordination of different types of business and activities in distribution centers
  • Value planning, supplier coordination and scheduling of maintenance work orders and purchase orders to efficiently complete maintenance.

About you


We're looking for a passionate and motivated Facilities Maintenance Planner who's unafraid to think outside the box and capable of delivering key coordination, planning, and scheduling of the region's assets.

You'll have exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills, with an ability to visualise and articulate detailed steps for an efficient and timely completion of a maintenance job.

We want to hear from you if you have:

  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to coordinate with range of stakeholders
  • Strong Project Management and Vendor Management skills, coupled with experience in financial budgets and business plans
  • Strong background in plant processes, plant maintenance experience and technical knowledge of mechanical or electrical processes
  • A degree or a diploma in Mechanical or Electrical engineering would be beneficial, but not required.
