For this role, we are looking for someone who is a client-focused, quick, proactive, and enthusiastic Systems Engineer with the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with both technical and non-technical staff.

No two days will be the same and you may be working across multiple tasks at one time.

You will be working as part of the Xuba team, ensuring all our client's technical needs are met promptly.

Your time will be spent between Xuba HQ in Hamilton and on the road looking after our clients throughout the Waikato.


Responsibilities will include;

  • Troubleshoot, manage, and resolve Help Desk tickets/issues related to technical support, hardware, software, and the network.
  • Research, diagnose, troubleshoot, and identify solutions to resolve customer issues, and report issues to the Service Desk for escalation.
  • Ensure proper recording and closure of all issues, informing management of recurring problems.
  • Document knowledge in the form of knowledge base tech notes and articles.
  • Monitor the Service Desk for tickets assigned to the queue and process them based on priority.
  • Assist with onboarding of new users, administration, support, diagnosis, and troubleshooting of problems with PCs, software, and communications devices.
  • Responding to enduser requests for technical support and assistance within established procedures.
  • Providing support and assistance to Network & System Engineer(s).
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with security policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills and the ability to provide highquality customer service.
  • Working knowledge of multiplatform operating systems including Windows and Mac OS.
  • Ability to work following high ethical standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with various levels of users.
  • Basic understanding of networking including but not limited to TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP
  • Knowledge of Active Directory.
  • Indepth knowledge of PC hardware components such as motherboards, RAM, processors, video cards, etc.
  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere which promotes positive working relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in stressful situations.
The salary for this position will be negotiated depending on your experience and ability.


Although the position is based on a 40-hour week, the nature of IT support will mean that at times your hours will need to be flexible and some on-call work will be required.

Training will be provided.
