The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Demand Planning Manager to join our Planning team on a permanent basis.

This is a key leadership role where you will lead and manage all Demand Planning and Control activities as part of the monthly planning & execution cycle.

You will take ownership and responsibility as the Demand forecast, planning & control lead in the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) & Integrated Tactical Planning (ITP) processes.


The main responsibilities of this role include:

  • Drive Sales proactive participation in IBP/ITP processes
  • Lead Demand Planning & Forecasting activities as part of IBP process to ensure the business optimises its forecast accuracy, inventory position and capacity utilisation
  • Lead the coordination and accuracy of the demand plan by collaborating cross functionally with Sales, Milk Supply, Manufacturing, Logistics, Planning, IBP and Finance
  • Work closely with Finance in pricing and margin management
  • Ensure all demand planning activities and reporting are done on time and in an accurate and qualitative fashion.
  • Optimise the demand plan by ensuring each month priorities are communicated and actioned and all shortfalls are documented and managed with the sales team in a calm and professional manner
  • Lead the demand planning team, coaching and developing the next generation of leaders for Synlait

The key to your success will be your ability to manage competing priorities.

You have good problem solving skills, are able to gather information from multiple sources and use good judgement to determine the best solution.


Skills and Experience
To be considered for this role will require

  • Knowledge and prior use of integrated planning tools
  • Ability to establish, maintain and build positive working relationships with all types of people at all levels within the business.
  • High level of excel and financial / business modelling skills
  • Sound analytical skills and a commercial mindset
  • Can effectively analyse complex financial and operational issues, breaking them down into their component parts and isolating issues and/or trends


University degree in Commerce, Science, Engineering or MBA is highly regarded in this role as is previous experience at a senior level in operational, planning, S&OP and leadership roles.
