Dairyworks is a business on move With a reputation as a leader in innovation and a history of strong sales growth, this business has big ambitions to continue its positive momentum.
The business has come a long way since its beginnings in 2001 with its consumer dairy brands now recognised as market leaders across grocery and foodservice and with a rapidly growing and exciting Australasian export business.
They pride themselves on innovation and following the purchase of the business by Synlait in 2020 they have gained access to even more exciting product innovation opportunities and the resources of a highly successful, listed Food business.
The opportunity
This is an exciting leadership position and reports to the GM Operations and Supply Chain.
Your challenge will be to support the growth of the business through strong leadership and commitment to people and their development.
You will enjoy the daily demands of food processing and have a strong understanding of the key drivers in the processing and packaging of food products.
You will also contribute to the planning and development of future production and packaging capability to meet the next product and market opportunities.
The role
As Manufacturing Manager, you will be responsible for full financial, operational and performance accountability.
Specific responsibilities include
- Leadership of a large team: staff development, coaching and mentoring and performance management.
- Building a continuous improvement culture that embraces strong positive behavioural and teamwork traits.
- Responsibility for quality outcomes meeting customer expectations, GMP standards and company guidelines and ensuring any deviations and customer complaints are owned, investigated and rectified.
- Departmental financial management and P&L responsibility
Skills and Experience
You are a Leader who has the experience, expertise and mana to inspire others along the journey of change, encouraging a positive and healthy culture, and promoting team spirit and vision.
To be more specific, we seek:
- Experience within an operational/manufacturing environment, proven success in achieving targets and operational efficiencies, strategic planning experience, and experience in food essential.
- At least 5 years' experience working within high compliance sectors such as dairy, food, food packaging or chemicals.
- Proven leadership and coaching capability.
- Strong communication skills, with a collaborative working style and the ability to develop strong business relationships.
- Flexible and adaptable, able to work under pressure, prioritising competing demands and responding to organisational contingencies as they arise.
- Initiative, decisiveness and followthrough.
- Strong analytical problemsolving abilities and excellent computer literacy.
