We are currently seeking experienced Planners to become an integral part of our National Team.


Our National Planning team work on a wide range of exciting, often multi-disciplinary, projects that will shape the future of our communities including nationally significant infrastructure projects, policy development, strategic planning and place-making.


Some projects and clients our planners are currently working with include Let's Get Welly Moving, policy work for the Ministry for the Environment and Greater Wellington Regional Council, New Zealand Defense Force estate regeneration, and infrastructure consenting for Auckland Council, Auckland Transport and the Ministry of Education.

We are also working with local and regional councils throughout the country on policy development and structure plans, disaster recovery, as well as stormwater and wastewater upgrade projects.

Additionally, we have a growing workload in the renewable energy sector.

This exciting opportunity will see you:

  • Working together with our leading technical specialists on complex consenting and policy projects in the water, transport, energy and buildings markets
  • Interacting daily with high performing teams and highly experienced Technical Directors
  • Growing and developing professionally through mentoring, training, and active involvement in professional organizations and our GHD global technical communities

  • Working collaboratively with our national team of planners, including supporting the growth and development of less experienced planners, coaching and motivating them to deliver quality outcomes for our clients
  • Contributing to the growth and development of the team in line with our company vision and providing input into strategic business planning processes

What you will bring to the team:

  • Proven technical planning record in regional council, local council or private sector planning, including in consenting infrastructure projects and/or leading plan review processes
  • Relevant NZPI recognised Planning qualification and 8 or more years of experience in the planning/resource management field
  • Full membership of the NZPI or working towards this
  • Enthusiasm to work collaboratively with other technical disciplines and think laterally to deliver integrated solutions on multidisciplinary projects
  • Experience in business development, including preparation of competitive proposals
  • Experience in client management, with established client relationships or networks
