Mō tō mātou rōpū | About the team
Waikato Clinical Campus is part of the School of Medicine, located at Waikato Hospital. It provides clinical education to cohorts of medical students in Years 4-6 of the six-year medical course. You will be working alongside senior academic medical staff and the administrator from the Waikato Clinical Campus.

Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
We are looking for a Research Nurse to join our Waikato Clinical Campus team.

You will work in conjunction with senior medical staff to recruit inpatient volunteers from Waikato Hospital to take part in the 6th year general medicine examination.

You will work closely with the academic staff and clinical campus administrator to provide support to the patients during the examination.

This is a casual role. The hourly pay is $36.11 per hour.

We are seeking a caring, supportive, outgoing nurse to recruit patients and support them during the examination.

Important Skills | Nga Pūkenga Motuhake
You will meet these requirements to be suitable for the role:

  • Be a registered Nurse within New Zealand with a current Practising Certificate
  • Have proven clinical experience with adults and diverse communities
  • Have a high level of cultural competence.
  • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise tasks.
  • Ability to develop and maintain networks within the University and DHB in a way that best supports the needs of patients and of students.
  • Demonstrated ability to respond appropriately and calmly in crisis situations, and to perform under pressure.
  • Ability to analyse and respond to patient issues
