Our new clinician will work with tauira around alcohol, other drug and addiction challenges that are impacting on health and wellbeing.

You will be providing professional services for students including evidence-based assessment, care-planning and recovery-focussed intervention, and to support students' and ability to succeed in their academic and personal lives.

The role is dynamic and evolving.

As well as providing individual tauira support, you will be involved in education and community development, promote equity and impact positively on health outcomes.

You will link in with our community partners to ensure services and supports are culturally and clinically responsive to the tauira and whānau needs.

Ko wai koe? - Who are you?


Having already worked in the addictions field, you will have expertise in supporting tangata whai ora (a person seeking health) with mental health, wellbeing and addictions challenges, for students who seek assistance with their personal difficulties.


You will have current knowledge of and ability to work with harm reduction models and the experience to deliver evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).


Along with your appreciation of models of wellbeing from a range of cultures, you will be committed to culturally safe, recovery-focussed and trauma-informed practices.

Your excellent communication skills will help you to relate to our wonderfully diverse student community.
