Based on the Waikato Hospital campus the Breast Cancer Research Trust is a small but dedicated team committed to making a difference for those diagnosed with breast cancer through clinical trials, research, and through the Breast Cancer Foundation National Register - Midlands region.


We are looking for a NZ Registered Nurse for the role of a Research Nurse to co-ordinate clinical trials and other research.

You would be part of our active, established and supportive research unit.

Specific tasks for the role include;

  • Clinical trial setup
  • Training, coordination and communication with multidisciplinary staff involved in trials and research
  • Working closely alongside breast cancer specialist doctors
  • Education of patients and obtaining consent, enrolment and followup
  • Coordination of trial assessments
  • Data collection and entry
  • Some administrative tasks
  • Competent computer user and proficiency in typing
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • A high degree of integrity and confidentiality


Familiarity working in a hospital setting and previous experience in clinical trials or research would be beneficial, but not essential.
