Meadow Mushrooms are seeking a recent Post Graduate with a Masters or Ph.
D. qualification in either Food Science, Microbiology, Bio-technology or similar for a 6 month contract with Meadow Mushrooms. Graduates must have finished study within the last 12 months to be eligible for the grant.
This is a great opportunity to join a leading FMCG company and the largest producer of mushrooms in New Zealand.
Reporting to the Head of R&D and Technical, the primary purpose of this role, is to explore solutions for increasing the shelf life of sliced mushrooms.
Key responsibilities:
- Researching packaging and preservative solutions for mushrooms
- Speaking to customers and suppliers, procuring samples
- Running trials, collecting and collating data
- External lab testing
About You:
- Hold a Post Graduate Qualification in relevant field (e.g. Food Science, Microbiology)
- Qualification obtained within the last 12 months
- Selfstarter who shows initiative and once provided guidance, can work independently with mínimal supervision
- Confident to pick up the phone and talk to customers/ suppliers etc
- Great organisational and planning skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
