The Waimakariri District Council serves a community of over 60,000 that is experiencing rapid growth with a high rate of development accompanied by corresponding demands on administrative functions.

The Council is seeking a Finished Floor Level Officer to work part-time (20 hours per week) within the Project Delivery Unit based in Rangiora.

The successful applicant will be responsible for managing the finished floor level enquiries inbox and workflow, and providing technical assessments and advice to residents and developers regarding the finished floor level requirements for their site.

Finished floor level advice is required in relation to both building consents and resource consents, so familiarity with either one or more of the Building Act, Building Code and Resource Management Act would be highly beneficial.

The role is within the Land Development Team and will involve working closely with the Land Development Engineers and Land Development Officer.

In assessing finished floor level requirements, the successful applicant will need to become comfortable using flood hazard mapping, flood hazard depths and reviewing survey plans.

Previous experience reviewing building site plans would be advantageous.

General administration duties will also be part of your day-to-day responsibilities, including managing the finished floor level enquiries inbox, arranging meetings, file management and record keeping.

To be successful in this position you will preferably be able to demonstrate familiarity with building consents and/or resource consents.

Experience in a customer facing administrative role is required, with a high level of computer literacy, quality assurance and regulatory knowledge.

This role will suit a strong team player who enjoys interacting with a wide range of stakeholders and going the extra mile, but also thrives on accuracy, efficiency and problem-solving.

We are looking for someone who takes ownership and has exceptional customer service skills with a "can do" attitude. Being able to prioritise workloads and deal with multiple tasks in high-pressure situations is essential.
