What's involved:

As a Parks and Gardens Maintenance Officer you'll be delivering a wide range of maintenance, upkeep, and improvement to Christchurch City's Parks and Cemeteries.

We have multiple opportunities currently available and are looking for people who are happy to carry out multiple different tasks through their day.

Your duties will include,

  • Mowing, hand and ride on.
  • Line trimming.
  • Spraying.
  • Weeding.
  • Pruning.
  • Planting.
  • Cleaning BBQs and Water fountains.
  • Rubbish collection.

Requirements of the role:
-
The role of Parks and Gardens Maintenance Officer is maintenance focused. You'll be a committed team player who is always looking for ways to learn, grow and improve.


You will be ensuring all aspects of our parks such as turf, gardens and all associated furnishings are maintained to the highest standard.

You'll have the opportunity to perform a wide range of horticultural and mowing tasks as well as interact with a wide range of horticultural experts.


You will have a full driver's license, level 4 National Certificate in Horticulture or equivalent, or extensive experience in similar role.

A Grow Safe qualification, class two truck licence and W endorsement would be highly desirable but not essential. CCC will help you gain these qualifications if you do not have them.
