At Manatū Hauora - Ministry of Health we are the kaitiaki of the health system, providing leadership and driving strategy and performance.

We regulate the health sector and are the primary source of advice on health matters.

The Strategy and Policy and Insights Group supports Te Pou Hauora Māori | The Māori Health Directorate to be the principal policy advisor to government for Māori health matters.

Te Pou Hauora Māori leads the Ministry's kaitiaki | stewardship role to ensure the Ministry is meeting its obligations to Māori under Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Ko tōu ake mahi - What You'll Do

We are currently recruiting for an Executive Assistant for the Group Manager Strategy, Policy and Insights within our Te Pou Hauora Māori | The Māori Health Directorate.

In this role you will deliver high quality, proactive and timely support to the Group Manager and the wider group of the Strategy, Policy and Insights and the Insights and Monitoring teams.

You will also support and actively collaborate and engage with colleagues both internally and externally.

Ko ngā pukenga ōu - What You'll Bring

  • Previous experience in a Personal Assistant or Executive Assistant role providing support to a senior executive and their team
  • Previous successful experience in a government Ministry or other government agency
  • Advanced skills in the MS Office Suite
  • Excellent organisational skills along with the ability to think ahead, use initiative, establish priorities and meet deadlines whilst preserving the highest levels of accuracy and confidentiality
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and the capacity to manage relationships at all levels, including with senior Ministry officials and with health sector leaders.
