Job Summary

The Opportunity


You will be a key lead in developing payroll services, processes and systems, as the organisation continues to embed the payroll function and grow it's team.

Whilst you are capable of 'doing the doing' efficiently and accurately, you'll also be able to take a step back and look at things strategically - planning, driving and implementing projects and championing continuous improvement.

About You

  • Proven experience in leading or managing a payroll operational function and focusing on continuous improvement
  • Fantastic people leadership and management skills with the ability to effectively lead and manage a team who are engaged and empowered
  • A sound understanding of current NZ employment law and HR practices
  • A demonstrated understanding and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • An understanding and appreciation of crosscultural issues and a knowledge of tikanga Māori and Pacific people's culture
  • The ability to balance a multitude of operational priorities based on the business requirements to achieve results
  • The ability to delegate and manage workflow within a team
  • Experienced, confident, and credible at building strong relationships both internally and externally at all levels of the organisation, collaborating effectively with all stakeholders.
