Reporting directly to the Medical Regional Service Manager, the successful applicant will be an experienced Field Service Engineer with a high level of IT skills.

Working together with our New Zealand team, you will provide remote and phone support, remote diagnosis, testing and breakdown repairs to a wide range of high-end devices and software located in across New Zealand.

You will have IT skills and be proficient in Networking, Device Setup and Software navigation. In addition to the technical aspects, this position requires excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills. This is a unique hybrid role where your time would be split between servicing and repairing medical devices as well as servicing and maintaining Zeiss integration software

The key responsibilities for this position includes (but not limited to):

  • Maintain effective relationships with customers by gaining their respect and trust
  • Onsite repairs, diagnostics and installation of designated highend products and software
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, provide technical support for customers and escalate as necessary
  • Ability to communicate technical issues on a nontechnical level
  • Eye for detail
  • Excellent time management skills and networking experience is essential
  • Ability to follow company policies and procedures
  • Excellent telephone manner and interpersonal skills
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues on Zeiss medical devices as well as Zeiss Integration software

  • Collaborate with external IT team members to troubleshoot network connectivity and performance problems.
  • Assist in system upgrades and data backups,
  • Provide user training and support on technologyrelated topics
  • Document technical procedures, maintain accurate records of support activities
  • Onsite repairs, diagnostics and installation of designated highend products and software
  • Excellent telephone manner and interpersonal skills
  • Maintain service tools and equipment and provide accurate compliance of all field service administration and reporting requirements
  • The key skills required for this role include:_
  • Formal qualifications in an electronic / IT field
  • Strong communication skills, business level in English
  • Minimum 2 years of successful experience in servicing of precision equipment or IT support is required preferably within the Medical Device field
  • Strong IT knowledge and awareness in PC supported instrument diagnostics would be an advantage. A high level of computer literacy and networking is essential with the ability to work unsupervised
  • Knowledge of the DICOM standard, SQL and PACS is desirable
  • Past proven experience in a customer orientated environment with exceptional customer service and the ability to deal with difficult situations and customers
  • A forward thinker who can prevent problems before they arise
  • A process driven individual who has the ability to manage multiple tasks and be flexible often dealing with adhoc queries from customers
  • Valid Driver's License
