Mō te tūnga | About the role

You will be providing overall change support for upcoming and ongoing construction projects with Defence Estate Infrastructure (DEI) with New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF).

This role will primarily focus on the Fuels Precinct, with construction starting later this year, and will support other DEI initiatives as required.


Duties for this role will include:

  • Designing and delivering of change management plans and artefacts;
  • Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to understand impacts generated by change initiatives and undertaking appropriate activities to support implementation;
  • Working alongside our technical teams to ensure all compliance requirements are met to enable commissioning activity;
  • Reporting on progress to the Programme Director, governance boards and wider management;
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders; and
  • Supporting wider DEI initiatives and teams to support ongoing organisational change maturity.

Please note:

This is a 3-year fixed-term engagement, ending June 2026.
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and Experience
You will be an experienced Change Manager, with a background in construction or facilities management being desirable. You will have a drive to support change within a complex environment and ensure business outcomes are delivered.

This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with a wide range of stakeholders throughout the organisation, including reporting on project performance and assisting with ongoing training as required.


Ideally, you will also have:

  • Welldeveloped analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to think strategically and ensure consistent quality assurance;
  • Exceptional planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload efficiently;
  • PROSCI change management certification or equivalent experience (desirable); and
  • Good technical ability, including MS Excel and wider office suite.
